This is by far the most comfortable BCD I've ever worn. I'm 175cm, 80kgs, and 32" waist, and the large fits me perfectly. This is my third BCD in the last 20 years. I seem to go through one every 10 years of so. This Excursion seems to be the most ruggedly built BCD I have ever bought and it should should last my a lot longer than my previous two, hopefully I'll still be diving then lol. The lift is very good on the surface and it gives me great horizontal positioning underwater. I'm using it with the Oceanic's Air XS 2 with the 16" corrugated hose. The delivery was very quick too thanks guys!

Great BCD. I use for travel and local. I was looking for a back inflate that was light enough to travel, but also had features for my local cold water dives in Port Phillip Bay. This is the ONE. Plenty of lift n 7mm Probe semi dry, and yet small enough to pack and works well with just lycra rashie and boardshorts. This has multiple attachment spots with durable metal rings. I did not want to sacrifice pockets, which is common in most travel BCs. These are big enough to keep needed items. I like this over the older Excursion 2 because of improved weight pockets and right shoulder dump valve. I like the integrated tank weight pockets and dumpable pockets. Allows for needed flexibility for varying weight configuration. Very comfortable shoulder straps and buckles. Great Zippers. So far appears very durable and able to withstand the rigors of heavy use. There are BCs that may be better for travel and some may be better for technical dives, but they would not be dual purpose for me. This is perfect balance in my opinion.

My 18 year old Chute BCD finally failed... leaking bladder. I ordered the last bladder from Oceanic but it would not get to us in time for our trip to Borneo. So this was the logical upgrade for my 19 yrs old son... and what an upgrade. It performed very well during all our dives... deepest was a wall dive off Sipidan down to 45m. Only hick up was my son needed to get used to the way the dump weights worked. He did not click in the dump weights properly and they dropped out during our initial orientation dive off the House Reef. Luckily it was a shallow dive. I saw the weights drop and recovered them and we resolved the "user error" at 3 metres and the issue was resolved w/o further incident. An excellent BCD for travel (light and package enough), plenty of steel D-rings, plush/quality materials, and capable of most every dive type except for the most extreme of technical dives. I still prefer my Hollis Elite 2 BPW for Cave and Wreck penetrations but short of that I might have to borrow my son's new Excursion 4 for a few of my own aquatic adventures in the future. :)
